G-SHOCK makes some of the toughest watches out there and although they have a surf team they didn’t have a big wave surfer as part of the group. With big wave surfing on the main stage they wanted their products put to the test in the absolute meanest surfing conditions on Earth.

Mavericks is one of the scariest waves on the planet, could G-SHOCK survive a full winter on the wrist of one of it’s frequent hell man.

the solution

Introducing Nic Vaughan, a fearless big wave surfer from California who consistently puts himself on the biggest waves at Mavericks. We handed Nic a G-SHOCK at the start of the season and told him to keep it on his wrist when the waves reach over 30 feet high.

  • We delivered various formats for Youtube and Facebook which were also displayed at Casio trade shows across the globe.

  • A short film of big wave surfing action that follows Nic through his big wave season at Mavericks, including the wave that got him a XXL Ride of the Year nomination.

  • Cutdowns for Facebook and Display.
